The key to a GREAT buttercream frosting is AIR! Get as much air into your butter and sugar as you can. That will create a fluffy frosting your family will fall for! Buttercream frosting has always been my favorite kind (although cream cheese frosting is quite delicious as well), and I was excited to get this perfect silky smooth creation together as quick as possible. If you're a beginner at making frosting then try making this easy confectionery favorite! Ingredients: 2 sticks butter 2 cups powdered sugar 1 to 2 tablespoons vanilla extract Make sure butter is at room temperature. Beat butter for 8 minutes on medium-high speed. Sift powdered sugar so that there are no lumps. Add sugar 1 tablespoon at a time, while mixing, until everything is incorporated. Add vanilla extract. Mix on high for 3 to 4 more minutes. Spread right away and enjoy!

It's easy to make your own powdered sugar at home. This recipe will save you some cash the next time you run out of the desired sweetener. All you need is sugar, cornstarch, and a good blender (https://amzn.to/2GWTCqr). Just make sure to use it right away. Make sure to use it right away, or store it in a cool, dry place. Ingredients: 1/2 cup sugar 1 tablespoon cornstarch Pour sugar into a blender. Add cornstarch. Blend for about 3 minutes, scraping sides every minute. Voila! Cough drops are a great way to help sooth your throat. Try making your own with this great recipe. You can adjust the amount of sugar to your liking. The key to a solid drop is when you remove the sugar mixture from your heat (see the directions below). But if they end up on the chewy side no worries. Just wrap each one in some wax (or parchment) paper so that they don't combine together. Ginger is great for nausea, inflammation, and muscle pain. Cloves kill bacteria, regulate blood sugar, and promotes liver health. The honey is mainly to sooth your throat. The sugar...isn't really good for you, but it does allow you to get a nice solid cough drop. Ingredients: 1/4 to 1/2 cup sugar 1/4 cups water 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves 1 tablespoon lemon juice 1 tablespoon honey Mix sugar and water into a saucepan and let the sugar dissolve in low to medium heat. Add lemon juice, ginger, and cloves. Let mixture boil for about 20 minutes. When the sugar is at the "hard crack"stage (300°F) remove from heat. Add honey and mix. On parched paper drop mixture and let cool. Dust with powdered sugar and store in a container. If you enjoy the Orange Chicken from Panda Express, then try out this recipe. It's a simple recipe that takes some time to prepare, but it's worth it! You get the same amazing flavor that you can enjoy from the restaurant but with the convenience of being at home. The orange glaze is what makes the flavor stick to your stomach. My wife came home from work as I was putting this together, and she was very pleased with the whole experience: from the amazing smells to the pleasant flavor! I was a rock star that night! Ingredients: For the Marinade... 3 chicken breasts cut into 1 inch cubes 1/4 cup soy sauce 1/4 cup orange juice 1/4 cup cornstarch 1/4 cup flour (optional) For the Glaze... Canola oil 1 teaspoon chili flakes 1 teaspoon ginger 1 tablespoon garlic 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup orange juice 1/4 cup vinegar 2 tablespoons soy sauce 2 tablespoons water and cornstarch Sesame seeds Combine the marinade ingredients with your chicken in a bowl and cover for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator. (optional) Add 1/4 cup flour to your chicken right before frying. Fry chicken in oil for 2 minutes on each side, on medium heat then set aside. In the same frying pan, using the oil that fried your chicken, add all the glaze ingredients except for the water/cornstarch. Mix until sugar melts completely. Add water/cornstarch making sure you stir it immediately after pouring. Add your chicken and mix until everything is well combined (use low to medium heat). Serve with Jasmine rice and enjoy! All you need is whipping cream (and some patience) to make this very British treat! Enjoy it with scones and some strawberry jam. Paired with a great cup of coffee you'll have yourself an amazing morning. Apparently there are 2 schools of thought when preparing your scones with clotted cream: The Devonian Method is to spread the cream first then add jam while the Cornish Method is the other way round. Any way you try it is quite enjoyable...in my humble opinion. Other names given to this delicious start to your day are clouted cream or scalded cream. Whatever your preference, I'm sure you love it! Ingredient: Heavy whipping cream Pour cream into a 9 by 13 inch baking dish. Heat oven to 180°F. Keep in oven for 12 hours. Remove from oven and bring to room temperature. Cover and place in refrigerator for 8 hours. Serve with scones and jam. Enjoy! The French definitely know how to do food! French fries, French bread, French toast, and of course...French press coffee! What a simple yet brilliant way to make coffee for a smaller group, without a filter, or even an electrical socket. Impressive! But some may say that it turns out a little heartier or perhaps too earthy for their liking. So here are some remedies for your French press woes. You can even grind it on medium instead of a coarse grind. The key is giving it some extra time. So brew that deliciousness as normal for 4 minutes, but after you plunge it (couldn't we have a nicer word when talking about our favorite drink?) let it sit for 5 more minutes to let any more grounds fall to the bottom. It will also allow for a better taste. Make some toast while you wait:) Then slowly pour that beautiful cup, but don't drain it all the way or you may get some silt. Then sit back, relax, and enjoy your morning goodness...without the sludge. Bon appetit! |
