Before having kids I was definitely one of those parents that said my children would eat lots of veggies, not be picky, and not complain about their food. And then....I had children. The toddler years especially can be challenging as they seem to want nothing but sweets. But there is hope! You can feed babies, toddlers, and yourself all from the same meal, with just a few minor adjustments. I was thrilled to see that my boys would eat tomato soup and even enjoy dipping their quesadillas in them. As you can see, it is easier for the baby to just eat the grated cheese separately, and you can easily put peanut butter on his tortilla strips for some extra protein. (It is actually good for them to have PB early as they will be less likely to develop an allergy). Bananas divide easily into thirds, making it easy for him to eat himself. The toddler likes his a bit more creatively....with a PB cap:) But all of these foods are relatively healthy, cheap, and big winners with these kiddos. Now for you, maybe you need some grownup grilled cheese with ham and a few extra veggies, but I am a big fan of tomato basil soup too. Relax, enjoy, and make sure to have good bibs (or an apron) for the soup:) Ingredients: Tortilla Cheddar cheese Mozzarella cheese Can of tomato soup Banana Peanut butter Place cheeses onto half of the tortilla so that you can fold it later. Put into a toaster over for 2 minutes. Once toasted fold the tortilla in half. Warm up a can of soup to go with the tortilla. For dessert chop up a banana and spread some peanut butter onto it.

But before you eat ice cream for breakfast, lunch, and dinner....consider some healthier options that can still keep you cool. This yogurt parfait is perfect for any meal, dessert, or snack. If you are rushed in the morning, you can make it the night before in a ball jar as seen here, pop a lid on it, and store it in your fridge overnight. (Just be aware that the granola won't be quite as crunchy that way.) We used plain homemade yogurt so it mixes together a little more, but if you prefer separate layers...go for a thicker Greek yogurt variety. Any fruit or granola works well, so you can customize this to whatever ingredients you have on hand and whatever preferences your family members have. Kids enjoy these too! So save your ice cream for later and go with a healthy, yet sweetly satisfying choice.
