The French definitely know how to do food! French fries, French bread, French toast, and of course...French press coffee! What a simple yet brilliant way to make coffee for a smaller group, without a filter, or even an electrical socket. Impressive! But some may say that it turns out a little heartier or perhaps too earthy for their liking. So here are some remedies for your French press woes. You can even grind it on medium instead of a coarse grind. The key is giving it some extra time. So brew that deliciousness as normal for 4 minutes, but after you plunge it (couldn't we have a nicer word when talking about our favorite drink?) let it sit for 5 more minutes to let any more grounds fall to the bottom. It will also allow for a better taste. Make some toast while you wait:) Then slowly pour that beautiful cup, but don't drain it all the way or you may get some silt. Then sit back, relax, and enjoy your morning goodness...without the sludge. Bon appetit!
