Check out the video below for the best gingerbread man recipe ever! It's a classic recipe and an easy recipe as well. It takes some time to chill your dough, but other than that it moves fast. It even bakes quite fast as well. This was a fun recipe to put together, and our kids had a fun time helping their mother. Try this out with your kids this holiday season (or just do it yourself). Enjoy! Ingredients: 1/2 cup shortening 1/2 cup sugar 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon ground ginger 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves 1/2 cup molasses 1 egg 1 tablespoon vinegar 2 1/2 cups flour Beat shortening for 30 seconds to make nice and fluffy. Add sugar, baking powder, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, and cloves. Beat for 30 seconds scraping the sides at times. Add molasses, egg, and vinegar and mix some more. Add 1 1/2 cup of flour and mix with mixer. Add 1 more cup of flour and mix by hand. Roll dough into 2 balls, cover, and chill for 3 hours. Roll out dough with a rolling pin to 1/4 inch in height. Cut out ginger bread shapes. Bake at 375°F for 6 to 8 minutes. Cool off, decorate, and serve!
